These Terms form an agreement between you and Codapt Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Codapt," "we," or "us"), for Glasshand, including glasshand.com, its app, APIs, and hosted device access (the "Service"). Creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service means you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Monthly access, with cancellation at the end of your billing period. If we cannot set up your first device, we cancel that subscription and refund the entire initial payment, including tax. When a rental ends, access ends and the device is returned to our provider for reset. Keep your own copies of anything you need.
1. Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Accounts are individual. If you use Glasshand for an organization, you must have authority for that use and to agree on its behalf. You may use the Service wherever providing and using it is lawful, subject to availability.
Sign-in uses a code sent to your email. Keep your email account, sign-in codes, sessions, and agent credentials secure, and keep your account and billing information accurate. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell support@glasshand.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We send email about sign-in, payments, security, device access, and service changes. Notification-list choices are explained below.
2. Hosted device access
Glasshand is a software and platform service that provides remote access to a dedicated hosted iPhone or Mac through browser controls and APIs. A "rental" means that time-limited service access. The physical device stays with the hardware provider; you receive no ownership, delivery, or right to take possession of it.
Your selected offering and checkout describe the device type and subscription. We use Solid and other infrastructure providers to supply, connect, maintain, and release devices. Your access depends on an active rental and compliance with these Terms.
3. Agents you authorize
You may connect an external agent by signing in and approving its requested permissions. Depending on those permissions, it can view rentals, manage rentals or billing, see the device screen, and send input. You can review and revoke its authorization in the app. Approving agent access and approving a new recurring subscription at checkout are separate steps.
You choose the agent, its provider, and the instructions it receives. An authorized agent can act within its permissions without a new Glasshand approval for every action. Its actions can change files, send communications, or make purchases through accounts you open on the device. Review its permissions and activity. Revoking access prevents further authorized use of Glasshand but does not undo completed actions or retrieve information already received.
External agents and the services they use have their own terms and privacy practices. Glasshand supplies device access; the agent's tasks and results remain subject to your arrangements with its provider.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Each rental has its own monthly subscription. The current base prices are US$60 per month for an iPhone and US$90 per month for a Mac, plus applicable taxes. Checkout shows the recurring price, taxes, and total before you approve payment.
By completing checkout, you authorize Stripe, our payment processor, to charge the selected payment method for the first payment and subsequent monthly renewals until cancellation takes effect. Your checkout and billing account show your billing period. Provide a valid payment method and the billing and tax information needed to process your purchase.
Payment is collected before device setup begins. We confirm successful payment before provisioning. Future price changes will be communicated before they apply, with any notice or consent the law requires and an opportunity to cancel before renewal at the new price.
5. Setup, availability, and initial refunds
Availability is confirmed during setup. If no device is available, setup definitively fails, or we cannot complete initial fulfillment within 30 minutes after confirmed payment, we cancel the subscription and initiate a full refund of the first payment, including any tax collected. The refund goes through the original payment method. Bank and processor handling can affect when it appears in your account; initiation is not a promise of instant receipt.
If a device is confirmed out of stock, you are added to its availability notification list by default unless you opted out. You can leave the list at any time in the app. A notification does not reserve a device, guarantee stock, create a subscription, or authorize a charge. A later purchase requires a new checkout.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel a subscription through the app or its Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and you retain device access until then, subject to these Terms. Cancel before renewal to avoid the next charge. A pending cancellation can be withdrawn while the rental remains eligible in the app.
Stopping use, signing out, or revoking an agent does not cancel a subscription. Except for the initial-fulfillment refund above, an express refund commitment in these Terms, or a right required by law, payments are nonrefundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for unused days or customer-initiated cancellation.
Mandatory consumer rights still apply. Nothing here removes a statutory withdrawal, cancellation, refund, or other remedy. If a local law requires separate consent to begin performance during a withdrawal period, acceptance of these Terms alone is not that consent.
7. Failed renewal payments
A failed renewal starts a recovery window of up to 72 hours from the first failed renewal payment. Device access continues during that window while you resolve payment. Stripe may retry the payment and send recovery or authentication emails. Retries do not restart or extend the window.
If payment is recovered in time, the rental continues. If it remains unpaid at the deadline, access ends, the subscription is canceled, and the device is released to our provider for reset. The reset deletes data on the device. Paying after release cannot restore that data or guarantee the same device; contact support if a payment completes after your access has ended.
8. Your data and device reset
You are responsible for saving copies of files, account information, and other material you need before your rental ends. Our operational backups support recovery of Glasshand's systems; they are not a customer backup or device-restoration service.
At the end of a rental, we revoke access and release the hardware to Solid for reset before reassignment. Plan on losing the device's files, installed apps, settings, and signed-in sessions. Remove device associations and revoke third-party credentials when appropriate.
Device reset is separate from retention of account, payment, security, support, and backup records described in the Privacy Policy. It does not promise immediate deletion of every copy, or delete copies held by your agents, cloud accounts, or other services.
9. Acceptable use
Use Glasshand only for activity you are authorized to perform. You must have the rights, licenses, notices, and consents needed for the accounts and information you access and for any communications or processing you direct.
- Follow applicable laws, including restrictions on exports and sanctioned transactions, and respect other people's privacy, intellectual property, and contractual rights.
- Do not use the Service for fraud, impersonation, credential theft, malware, unlawful surveillance, unauthorized access, spam, harassment, or illegal exploitation.
- Do not bypass account permissions, attack or disrupt the platform, interfere with another customer, or obtain access to provider infrastructure outside the controls made available to you.
- Do not resell your Glasshand account or its access, or disable management or reset capabilities needed to operate and return the hosted device.
You remain responsible for apps and accounts you operate on the device, third-party charges you authorize, and the consequences of your use. These responsibilities do not remove our own legal obligations.
10. Content, platform rights, and third parties
You keep your rights in information and materials you bring to Glasshand. You permit us and the providers we use to process that material as needed to deliver your requested access, maintain and secure the Service, provide support, and meet legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.
Codapt and its licensors retain their rights in Glasshand's software, designs, and service technology. During authorized use, you may use the interfaces and documentation we make available for the Service.
Apple, app publishers, websites, external agents, payment services, and other third parties may impose their own terms, permissions, and fees. A Glasshand subscription does not give you licenses or subscriptions to third-party services. We cannot promise that a third party will continue offering a particular service or permit your intended use.
11. Availability, changes, and suspension
We work to keep Glasshand available and may maintain, update, or change it. Access can be interrupted by maintenance, faults, network conditions, or provider outages. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, no particular uptime or uninterrupted availability is guaranteed.
We may restrict or end access to address a material breach, nonpayment, unlawful activity, a security threat, or a legal requirement. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Urgent risks may require immediate action.
If we discontinue your paid service for our convenience, rather than because of your breach or nonpayment, we will provide reasonable advance notice where possible and refund the unused portion of the affected paid subscription. Any release of the device has the data consequences described above.
Except for our express commitments and rights the law preserves, the Service is supplied as available, without additional warranties about fitness for a particular use, error-free operation, or third-party compatibility.
12. Liability
Where legally permitted, Codapt and its service providers are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, including resulting lost revenue, business opportunities, or data. Our combined liability for claims concerning Glasshand is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees you paid for Glasshand in the 12 months preceding the event that caused the claim.
These limits apply only as far as the law allows. They do not reduce an express refund obligation, excuse liability that cannot be excluded, or restrict your mandatory consumer or privacy rights.
13. Governing law and disputes
Delaware law governs this agreement, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes belong in Delaware's state or federal courts, and both parties accept those courts' jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you another forum or protection.
If you are a consumer, you keep the nonwaivable protections and rights to bring proceedings that apply where you live. You may contact support@glasshand.com to seek an informal resolution. Contacting support is not a condition for exercising a legal right or meeting a filing deadline.
14. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms and will display the effective date. Material changes will receive appropriate notice, and we will obtain agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. Subject to those protections, using the Service after an update takes effect means you accept it.
A separate written agreement signed by Codapt controls an express conflict for the services it covers. These Terms and that agreement govern your Glasshand service relationship; the Privacy Policy describes our data practices. Required data-processing terms must be in place for processing that needs them.
If part of this agreement cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a right once does not waive it. Provisions concerning accrued payments, ownership, lawful data handling, liability, and disputes continue where their purpose requires after the Service ends.
